How To Retrain Your Meaning-making Machine

• 18 min

You just launched a new retreat, and no one signed up. Your new course is online, and no one bought it. These are perfectly normal things that can and will happen to any business, but what do you make these things mean?  In today's episode, I'm talking about how we deal with setbacks, what kind of stories we tell ourselves about our business and about us when things go South, and how to retrain our minds to stop punishing ourselves for stuff that is out of our control. For us to feel safe, our brain needs to make sense of things, spot possible threats, and design escape routes in case we need them. But we must remember the brain can be overprotective, like a helicopter parent. It can go like this: "Two people unsubscribed from your newsletter, your content is not good enough, you're not good enough at this, you should stop exposing yourself and suffering, quit trying the entrepreneur thing."  Throughout this episode, you'll hear my four top tips to retrain your mind and stop creating apocalyptic scenarios every time something goes bad with your business; you'll also learn the importance of giving yourself some grace and how to create different stories in your head.  Tune in to episode 104 of Unstoppable Female Entrepreneurs to learn how to retrain your meaning-making machine and approach your business results differently.  In This Episode, You Will Learn: What do make things mean?
