    • Mental Health

We will learn:

What it really means to be in awe and why this topic has garnered so much attention lately

The science around the 3 types of awe

A powerful method to help us enter into a state of awe at will

When was the last time you felt awe? Think back to a moment when you were completely blown away by something - maybe it was the sight of a stunning sunset or the feeling of standing at the top of a mountain.
The truth is, we're always surrounded by nature's magic. At any moment, we could experience wonder and awe, but most of us get so caught up in our lives that we don't even acknowledge the moment.
But here's the thing: experiencing awe actually has a whole lot of benefits, like increasing your creativity and your sense of connection to others. It even has the power to transform a society.
So how do we open ourselves up to experiencing awe every day, even every hour?
That's what we're talking about today.
Our guest is Michael Amster. He is a physician, researcher, writer, and teacher on the emotion of awe. He is the co-author of “The Power of Awe,” and studies the emotion of awe at the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley and at UC Davis School of Medicine, Department of Cardiology.
