• 42 minDream Job Ready Episode 06: Benjamen McGrath (Job Seeker, ex Vodafone, Twentieth Century Fox) I worked with Ben at Rip Curl around 10 years ago and he’s also had dream jobs with Vodafone, Twentieth Century Fox and in the advertising agency scene. Benny is currently unemployed and job seeking though, after recently being made redundant due to a company takeover, so I interviewed him to find out just how someone prepares and deals with that setback when they’re chasing a dream job. The timing of this interview couldn’t have been more coincidently relevant. The COVID-19 crisis has rocked small and large business, and has led to millions of lost jobs all over the world. This interview took place in February, so we weren’t aware of Coronavirus at that point and hence we don’t discuss it in the interview. We do however talk plenty about dealing with job loss, managing redundancy, recruiters and staying ready for the next opportunity that presents itself.
