Based in California, Jon has spent the last 10 years traveling the globe filming, editing and working with some of the world’s coolest brands and socially influential people.
Most of his work is in sports, fashion & lifestyle, and his reel of highlights includes jobs with Lorna Jane, The Fat Jewish, Steve Aoki, Frankies Bikinis, Whitefox Boutique, Volcom, Honey Birdette, Smith Optics, AirBnB and The World Surf League.
Jon also worked on staff at Rip Curl for a few years, which is where I met him. We used to send him on surf trips to film Rip Curl surfers and took him to a bunch of World Tour events to help me capture and distribute media footage. We had some good times...
Jon is great in this interview and shares some real truths about getting started and achieving success in the content creation industry. He’s freelanced and he’s worked client side, which gives him a dual perspective on the “how” to make it.
