CJ Baran & Benjamin Romans created the show CAGES – an indescribable “genre-busting game changer” (LA Times) that left audiences in awe at its premiere… MYSELF INCLUDED!
Masterfully weaving state-of-the-art video and animation with live performance and original songs that pulse with an addictive pop energy, CAGES pulls out all the stops to conjure a rock opera musical for the modern age.
These two creative overachievers wrote the story, the music, directed, and choreographed the piece – CJ even played the lead!
And just like any creative expression, the show started as an itty-bitty baby idea that paid off big time when they decided they would never settle for less than the art they want to see. ← not easy when you are creating a dystopian, B&W gothic world in a live, stage performance!
When I invited CJ to the show, he wrote: My entire life has been living in the void between creating art that I believe will move people while also trying to make a living at it. ← perhaps the most Brian Breaks Character thing anyone has ever said!
